Introducing the PaintShop Professionals

Meet Our Inaugural Class of PaintShop Professionals!

Launched alongside PaintShop Pro 2018, the Corel Photo team is thrilled to announce the all-new PaintShop Professionals program and introduce the inaugural class of PaintShop Professionals!

Selected from among the Corel Photo community, these six talented photographers and designers are well known for their editing and design skills – and, more importantly, their desire to help others to learn and succeed. This first class of Professionals will work alongside the Corel Photo Team and the award-winning Discovery Center to inspire, educate, and motivate PaintShop Pro enthusiasts of all levels.

By bringing together this group of incredibly talented artists, a vast amount of creative potential has been unlocked and we can’t wait to share it with everyone,” says Melanie Hyde, Product Marketing Manager for the Corel Photo team. “We’re confident these accomplished members of our community – each specializing in a different area of photography or design and with their own signature style – will help PaintShop Pro users pick up all kinds of new skills and inspire them to create their best photo yet.”

Brad Barton, Photographer

Brad is a North Texas based artist who tells people’s stories and captures their emotions in sometimes fantastical, sometimes bizarre, sometimes surreal ways. Using his imagination, camera, and digital tools, he has created work for clients big and small. His work has been published in nationally distributed books and magazines, has been featured in feature length motion pictures, and has won numerous awards. Brad holds Master of Photography and Photographic Craftsman degrees from Professional Photographers of America and continues to teach and write about art and photography.

 

Jann Paxton, Digital Photo Painter

Jann has been working in a variety of Arts fields for over 3 decades, including men’s fashion design, theater, dance, singing and songwriting, painting and visual art. He has designed clothing for notable artists like David Bowie and Andy Warhol, and spent a decade touring and recording albums. In 2001, Jan retired from the music industry, picked up a paintbrush, and started using his years of experiences to create the images in his now growing collection of paintings and digital images. He especially loves to paint portraits.

 

Diego Jourdan Pereira, Coloring and Restoration Artist  

Diego Jourdan Pereira is a Silver Morosoli Award winning artist, writer and graphic designer. He studied Western-style woodcut and etching techniques in Chile, and water-based woodblock printmaking (known as ‘mokuhanga’​) at Japan’s MI Lab. He writes articles about his craft for various magazines, and is the author of two Spanish-language books which seek to inspire a whole new generation of Latin American artists in the pursuit of their goals. Diego is also renowned for his work on licensed properties, such as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, Toy Story, and many others.

Robert Taylor, Photographer and Illustrator

Bob is an artist and photographer who has been drawing and painting his whole life. As a former tattoo artist, he has explored many styles of art and even used his skills to paint custom cars and motorcycles. Bob is an active member of several online communities for artists, and has been using PaintShop Pro for many years.

 

Kai Schuster, Photographer

Kai is a digital artist and amateur photographer, who has been using PaintShop Pro for several versions now. His main interests are landscapes, nature photography, portraits and image processing of any kind. In 2005, he created the “Second-Kind” project for his image and media design hobby and it grew from there as he continued to learn about photography and the photo editing process. In 2013 he launched his first public photography site, Second-Kind Artfactory.

 

Carole Asselin, Digital Scrapbooker  

Cassel, as she is known online, has been using Paintshop Pro since version 7. When she heard of digital scrapbooking, it became clear that she then had a purpose for using her photo editing skills, and she began teaching people how to create digital layouts and elements using PaintShop Pro. In 2007, Carole got into scripting, and since then she has coded hundreds of scripts to help scrapbookers, designers and photographers work faster and more accurately with their photo editing projects. She is one of the most advanced scripters in the digital scrapbooking world.
