Part 3: Basic Photo Painting

In this tutorial, Painter Master Helen Yancy introduces you to the Color and Layers palette, and how to use this for creating photo art. She also takes a look at brush settings like size, opacity, feature, resaturation and bleed, and what each of these settings mean. You will learn how to add a new brush to a custom palette and how to save the custom palette for future use. Before you start to paint, it is helpful to create a new layer to paint on – this allows you to see if you have missed painting in any areas and still have the photo showing through.
