St. Margaret’s ChapelMelissa Hood Clearman
This is probably my favorite piece so far that I’ve created using Corel. I used the pencil sketch feature on my original photograph.
St. Margaret’s Chapel is located in Fleming Island, Florida. It was named for Margaret Fleming, who was one of the earliest settlers of the area. Margaret’s life was told in great detail in the Eugenia Price novel, Margaret’s Story, which is part of her Florida Trilogy. Margaret did not live to see the completion of the chapel in the mid-late 1800’s due to her death. The first service held in the chapel was her funeral. It is currently a favorite tourist stop on Fleming Island where visitors can marvel at the large live oak trees that surround the property and walk through the centuries old graveyard.
