Watkins Glen in the FallBrian Tomcik
This image is from Watkins Glen State Park, in New York state. I was able to capture this photo by getting up early and driving 90 minutes in the dark to arrive at the park as it opened on a Sunday morning, and before any crowds arrived.
Watkins Glen is a small but extraordinary park, known for its gorgeous gorge carved deep by Glen Creek. The different types of rock in the park erode at different rates, leading to many steps and waterfalls through the gorge. Add in the colors of fall, and the park is a magical place.
This photo captures the Rainbow Bridge with several of the steps and waterfalls. Details of the photo: Nikon D7100, aperture priority, f/10, 34mm, 6 sec, ISO 100, auto WB.
