Erase vs Format Your Memory Cards
Erasing the photos from your memory cards doesn’t remove all of the data. Overtime the card can begin to have errors and fill up with useless information. Formatting clears the card completely and resets the card’s folder structure. Format your card regularly but be sure to back up your photos.
