Walking Backwards Safely When Shooting

walkingbackwards

When walking backwards while shooting, it is very important to do this safely or avoid it if possible. Be aware of your surroundings. Look for anything that may trip you then either work out a different route or move the obstacle. Use an assistant to hold the back of your shirt and guide you. If you have no assistant, walk in a sort of “moonwalk” fashion. Lift your heel first, then drag your toes backward. Repeat. This reduces the chance of tripping and falling over backwards. Take your eye away from the viewfinder and look behind you frequently. WALKING BACKWARDS WHEN SHOOTING IS VERY DANGEROUS. BE VERY CAREFUL.
