Auto-painting with Painter Essentials
A great way to start digital painting is to use the auto-painting tool in Painter Essentials 5. Sit back and watch as your photo is magically transformed into a painting, sketch or line drawing. Just choose your image and a painting style, and then let the SmartStroke™ brush technology follow the lines and contours in your picture just like a real artist would. Once the auto-painting is complete you can add some touch-ups and photo effects.

I do not know if it is to late to ask a question here. I am using Painter Essentials 7 to auto paint photos. I noticed that some of the pre-sets, like Detailed Painting put a white border around the edges of the image. Is there a way to eliminate this?
Dave
I too hate the white border. Please help!
Does Corel “Lite” offer the auto painting function also.
Trying to find out the difference between “Essentials” and “Lite”. and trying to find out if “Lite” has auto painting
Hello Paul,
Painter Lite did not have the auto-painting. However, it was phased out in favour of the Essentials series, which does have the auto-painting feature (as does Painter 2019!).
Painter Essentials 6 is designed to be more friendly to a new or hobbyist digital painter, while the full Painter suite is a more complex and fully featured suite aimed more at the professional. Painter Lite was a step in between these, offering a workspace layout and tool selection more in line with Painter itself, but without the full set of tools and options.
Hope this helps,

I just bought painter essentials 6, i bought it from the ‘get more’ panel from plugins in paintshop pro x9. But it doesn’t show up in plugins no matter what I do, I hope paintshop pro x9 is a host program for this plugin. is it?
Hello Voni,
Sorry for the confusion! Painter Essentials 6 is a standalone program which you can use on its own, or in tandem with PaintShop Pro, for example to let you autopaint an edited photo, apply some photographic aftereffects to a digital painting, or anything else you can think of!
Hope this helps,

painter essentials 6 Is there more auto paint presets available
Hi Rusty,
Thanks for your comment. Painter Essentials 6 includes 11 auto-painting presets: Detailed Painting, Impressionist Painting, Oil Painting, Modern Painting, Illustration, Detailed Watercolor, Watercolor Sketch, Colored Pencil Drawing, Pencil Drawing, Pen & Ink Drawing, and Pastel Drawing. These are the same presets available in Painter Essentials 5.
Hope this helps!
