How to Export Multiple Assets at the Same Time

You can export multiple objects or multiple pages at once, using the Export docker introduced in CorelDRAW 2021. This docker has several time-saving features, enabling you to export to several industry-standard formats with a single click.

Click on any of the images below to view full size.

Exporting Multiple Objects in a Single Format

The document in our first example contains nine grouped vector objects. Each object is 1000 x 1000 pixels.

To prepare for export, the first step should be to rename each group with a unique name, since these names will be used as filenames upon export. This can be done in the Objects docker (Window > Dockers > Objects) by right-clicking on the object name, selecting Rename, and then typing in a new name.

For multi-asset export options, open the Export docker, either from the WindowDockers menu, or by clicking the plus icon along the list of open dockers.

To export a single copy of each object, first set the default export format from the available GIF, JPG, PNG, or PDF options. This menu is at the bottom of the Export docker.

Then select all objects in the workspace and click the Add New button in the Export docker.

The order of objects is the same as the order in the Objects docker, and the default export format is selected for each object. The export format can be changed for any object, and you can uncheck anything you don’t need exported.

At the bottom of the docker, click the Destination Folder icon to set where the new files will be placed. Then click Export All.

In the destination folder, you should now have a file for each object selected for export, with file names that match object names.

Exporting Multiple Versions of an Object

You can also use the Export docker to export multiple formats and/or sizes of a single object at the same time. Select an object (in this example we selected the first logo) and click the Add New icon to add it into the Export docker.

To review and modify the export settings, click the Settings icon.

This opens the Export window, with settings relevant to the export format you have chosen. In this example, the settings are for JPEG export, and there are several presets such as High quality JPEG.

If you make changes to settings, be sure to click OK. Back in the Export docker, add a suffix so that after exporting, you’ll know which version is which (we used “_1000px”).

To export a second version of the same object, click the Options icon and choose Duplicate.

In this example, we want to export a different size (250 x 250px) so we will replace the suffix with “_250 px”.

Click the Settings icon beside this second version of the object to open the Export window. Here we can change the width and height to 250px in the Transformation section.

You can add more export versions, in any of the available formats, changing settings as needed.

Applying Export Settings to New Objects

Now we’ll use the same export settings to export other objects. Select the new objects you want to export. In this example, we want to export the other 8 logos each in the 1000px and 250px sizes.

We’ll start with the 1000px asset, click the Options icon, and choose Add Asset with These Settings.

With the same objects still selected in the workspace, we can do the same for the 250px asset: click the Options icon and choose Add Asset with These Settings.

Once you have added all the assets you want to export, click the Export All button. Within a few seconds, all files will be added to your destination folder.

Exporting Multiple Assets as a Grouped Object

In our next example, we want to export the “Happy Birthday” text, plus the colored lines below, as one object. But these are all separate objects, including the yellow block shadow on the text.

For export, these objects need to be combined into a group. You can do this by selecting all the objects, either on the workspace or in the Objects docker, then right-clicking and selecting Group (or use Ctrl + G or the Group icon on the property bar). In the Objects docker, rename the group with the name you want for the exported files.

With the group still selected, go back to the Export docker, and click the Add New icon to add the group to the docker.

As with our previous examples, you can click on the Options icon and duplicate the asset if you want to export multiple copies with different sizes, formats, or other changes to the export settings.

Exporting Multiple Pages

In addition to exporting multiple objects at the same time, you can also export multiple pages at the same time.

In this example we have a 4-page document. To view all pages at once you can open the Pages docker and click the Multipage View icon. And you can use the Multipage View Settings icon to change the layout, such as displaying the pages in a 2-column grid.

To learn more about the Pages docker and Multipage View, watch our full tutorial How to Use Multipage View.

If you were to select any of the objects on these pages and add them to the Export docker, it would be the objects themselves that get exported. To export an entire page, you must make sure that the page itself is selected. You can select a page in the workspace or in the Pages docker by clicking a page name or number.

Once you have your page selected, click the Add New icon to add it to the Export docker.

From here, you can change the export format to PDF, then select the remaining pages and add them with the same settings.
