By Aaron Rutten

A step-by-step lesson describing how to draw a realistic fried egg using Corel Painter 2015 digital painting software and a graphics tablet.

In this art tutorial, Painter Master Aaron Rutten starts with a rough sketch and adds layers for each overlapping object. The layers are filled with solid colors and then form is added by shading with lighter and darker values. Bubble textures are added using a custom Image Hose Nozzle Brush called ‘Relief Blobs’. Color tinting is added on separate layers much like a traditional glazing method. Final touches are added like focal blurring and texture to make the egg more lifelike.
