Text and Shape Cutter Tool

The Text and Shape Cutter tool now has a preview option, so you can see the area you are cutting before you apply your cutout. This is perfect for a collage, scrapbooking or other creative projects. Here’s how the Text Cutter tool works:

  • select the Text tool, font and font size
  • type in your text then position it over the background you wish to use
  • select the Text tool again and enable the Cutter Preview icon
  • once you are happy with your selection, click the Text Cutter icon
  • the cut out text appears as a new image window, which you can save, or copy and paste right away into a project

      Hello Jeff,

      Which version of PaintShop Pro are you using, and what workspace are you set to? If you are in the Essentials workspace, some tools may not be visible. To fix this, navigate to File > Workspace and select the Complete workspace. That will bring out all of the advanced toolbars and settings in PaintShop Pro.

    Really useful tutorial. What is the font that is used in this video please? I can’t seem to find it in the standard fonts supplied with Paintshop Pro 8X
