Bass Harbor Head Light

A popular tourist destination, this lighthouse in Acadia National Park, is located in the village of Bass Harbor within Tremont, Maine. It marks the entrance to Bass Harbor on the southwestern side of Mount Desert Island. The lighthouse was built of brick in 1858 on a stone foundation, stands 56 feet above mean high water. This was a 14 exposure HDR photo that took several hours to make. There are about 25 other photographers on all sides of me. If you want this shot, go early and be prepared to be a while.
