For an amateur photographer, the only goal is often to have a clear, well composed image. But don’t forget that a photograph is also an interpretation of that image. Simple tweaks like focusing on a bystander or deliberately blurring a figure can convey a message about the subject you are photographing. Not all photographs make us forget about the photographer; some force us to think about their relationship to the subject matter.
