Shoot Vertically
Here’s an easy rule of composition: if your subject is taller than it is wide, shoot vertically! Even if the subject fits into the horizontal frame, shooting vertically is going to magnify the impression of height. Some equipment, like a vertical grip and a ball head for your tripod, will make this easier.
