Focus on the Scene, Not Your Settings
If your subject is in motion – you’re shooting a wedding, a concert, a sports game or a news event – there is often not time to be playing with your camera settings. Set your aperture to a good, versatile setting like f/8, and then forgot about it and focus on being where you need to be to take the best possible shots. It’s better to have a good shot of the goal being scored than a perfectly crisp shot of the net three seconds later!
