Will there be a Painter 2024 and if so when?

We do not currently have plans to release major new features and tools in 2024. There’s been a shift in corporate strategy to focus on performance and stability improvements in Painter in order to ensure that our customers are receiving the best possible experience from the product. IMHO the biggest, most essential improvement you could make is to hardware accelerate the Painter UI. Performance is poor at higher resolutions and practicaly unusable at 4k where panning, zooming and rotating happen at maybe 5ps if you’re lucky. My machine has a 13900k and I have to run my Cintiq at 1440p just to get anything approaching a usable Painter experience.
A major part of the reason people are moving away to things like Rebelle is Painter performance is so poor these days.
