Part 5: Adding Finishing Touches
By Helen Yancy
The last step in creating a painting from a photo is to add the finishing touches. Using the Eyedropper tool, you can sample colors from your image and then adjust them slightly in the Color palette. Now you can paint with these colors to add highlights to the background and other parts of your painting. Then you can blend in these highlight strokes with your blender brush. If you want to bring back any fine detail from your original photo, you can readjust your brush settings so that you are once again clone painting. By alternating these two techniques you will able to create just the right look and amount of detail you want in your painting.

Helen, I absolutely loved your beginning intro into photo painting tutorial with your beautiful grand daughter Clara! I have just become interested in this form of art and am very excited! I am on the 30 day trial with Corel but can’t wait to actually give it a shot! You spoke so plainly and thoroughly and I feel like I picked up a lot from you! Thank you so much!!!
