By Karen Bonaker

Learn how to paint a night forest scene, inspired by Bob Ross’ Campfire masterpiece. Painter Master Elite Karen Bonaker guides you through the steps using Painter Essentials and the Campfire Essentials brush pack. Begin working from back to foreground using the Leafy Trees brush to add value and texture to your background, then create foliage and add highlights with the Fire Trees brush. To paint the forest elements, sketch in the trees with the Lodgepole brush, then add texture and detail with the Oil Brush Texturizer and Painting Knife. The final element is the campfire itself, working with the Campfire Glow brush to create the flames, and then the Campfire Sparks brush to add some extra magic. Once your painting is complete, Karen will show you how to add a new layer and work with the Eraser tool to darken the overall scene and enhance the glow around the campfire.
