Have used Corel for 20 years. Key to our productivity. One recurring problem – we import dwg files but each single imorted cad layer explodes into many separate layers. They appear mixed up and in random order in the Object Manager and it could take hours to manually sort them and then cut an dpaste the contents back into the single cad layers. If I could SORT THE LAYERS – alphabetically say – I could do this taks pretty efficiently. Is there any way to sort layers automatically rather than manually?

Probably a most basic question here. I apologize, but I use Corel Draw only for creating Bible verse videos~seems like I don’t have the knowledge to expand on more than that. Let me give you an example of what I am trying to find out. I currently have CorelDraw home and Student X8. I created visuals last year (2020) when I try to get into them again to be able to print out, it will not let me open these files. Do I need to upgrade to another Corel draw and if I do, will it allow me to get into my older visuals? Thank you for your help. Kathy

      Hello Kathy,

What format were these files saved or exported as? They should open just fine in the same version of CorelDRAW or a newer one. When we see issues like this it is most often a corrupted save file or installation, or on occasion, a file that was made in a newer version of CorelDRAW and opened in an older one.

Where is the calendar wizard in CorelDraw 2020?

    • Adam Reply

      Hello Rodney,

Which version of CorelDRAW 2020 are you using? If it is the Home and Student version, it does not ship with VBA and macros as these are classed as professional features. If you have a professional version, you can find the calendar wizard in the Tools menu under Macros > Run Macros.

      Hello Jerry,

Automation support and the macro manager are only included in the full CorelDRAW Graphics Suite package, and are not available in CorelDRAW Standard.

Hi. I have a sheet of 14 labels. I just want to print one label, not 14. How do I print just one and pick the position of the label on the sheet?

    Thanks

    August 15, 2020 at 11:33 pm
    • Adam Reply

      Hi Dave,

CorelDRAW’s label printing functions are oriented more towards producing many labels quickly, but a relatively simple way to do this would be to load a blank canvas the same size as the label sheet, copying over your label to the appropriate position on the page, and print. If you see yourself doing this often, we would suggest saving a template with guidelines marking out where each label is on the sheet, to more easily assign and move labels depending on how many labels on the sheet have been printed.

      Hope this helps!

      Hello Jorge,

It sounds like the toolbox docker is set to hidden! You can fix this by right clicking on the ruler and selecting the Toolbox option in the dropdown.

I am using the corelDRAW 2020. How do I fit my work to page? “Fit to page” I do not remember the short cut key control code.

      Hello Chidi,

While there is no hotkey to do this in one press, here is a quick workflow to set an element to fill your canvas:

      1. Select the image or element.
      2. Press ALT+F10 to bring up the Transformation tool.
      3. Enter the X and Y values of your canvas, and set “Copies” to zero.
      4. Click “Apply”.

      Hope this helps!

I have just installed CorelDraw Standard . There is no command or menu bars showing on the page. I am trying to set these up so I can use tools and customize.
How do I do that when I can see no menu bars.

      Hello Catherine,

It sounds like you may be in the Lite workspace, or another workspace with a less dense setup. You can change workspaces from Window > Workspace in the top bar, or from the Welcome Screen by selecting Tools > Customization > Workspace.

If you aren’t seeing any tools at all and the welcome display is not showing up, we would suggest using a factory reset to get back to the default menu. To do this, close CorelDRAW if it is open, and then hold F8 while launching the program to initiate a factory reset.

      Hi Scott,

We will be including this in our next Q&A session video. In the meantime, there are a number of different resources available to help you build a better understanding of the tools and features within CorelDRAW, starting off with the Quick Start guide and the Hints docker that are available from the Help menu, and the Learning tab in the Welcome book that has a selection of tutorials. There is my course that is available through LinkedIn Learning and while it was updated to include CorelDRAW 2018, it will certainly be very pertinent to learning the basics in what ever version of CorelDRAW you are using.

      Hope this helps!

A Corel chat agent suggested that VideoStudio 2020 was the software for the task I have. Could you please confirm.
I’m trying to create a graphics in motion intro for the video presentation I am creating for our graduating seniors at Pender High School, where I teach.
The graphics in motion that I like is created with After Effects.
I do not use any Adobe software, I’ve always used Corel products. (For over 20 years now)
I would like to use all the photos of the seniors and have them flying towards the viewer and then go off screen.
Is this something that CVS2020 can do?

    May 15, 2020 at 10:07 pm
    • Adam Reply

      Hello Markil,

Yes, you could do that in VideoStudio! The ‘flying’ effect can be done by using keyframes to tell the picture to move from one point onscreen to another, and enlarging as they move to make them appear to be getting closer. You can see these tools in action in our Adding Custom Motion Effects tutorial. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for your response! I have 174 pics I want to put on the opening frame and then have them each move up and out, etc. I know very little about all of this. I teach carpentry in our local high school, but I wanted to do something for our graduating class. This class has suffered through two catastrophic hurricanes, the floods that followed, and now this virus. I would really like to make this graduation special in spite of all that’s been thrown against them. Is there a template you could suggest? Anything you could help me with would be so greatly appreciated.

          Hi Markil,

I’m not sure we have a template that does quite what you are looking for, but if you are using paths, it should be quick to set something up. We would suggest building a set of, say, six or so custom motion paths that have pictures fly by to the left, right, top, and bottom of the screen, with a couple other path angles for variety. You can then save those paths and quickly apply them to multiple images, without having to recreate the same thing for every image.

If I design a brochure with pics and text to page size A5 for example, is it possible to adjust the entire contents to A4 including text size adjustment? I select all elements and adjust size, pics obviously no problem but text remains original font size. Test are in text frames.

    • Roger Wambolt Reply

      Hi Joanna,

We will be including this topic in our next Q&A session video. In the meantime, it certainly is possible to resize a design and have the text resize as well. If you have Artistic text in a design it is simply a matter of selecting everything and resizing it. In your situation, you have text in frames, also called Paragraph text. To resize these text frames and the text within, simply hold down the Alt key while resizing.

      Hope this helps!
