Did you lose the original document for your 20-page contract? Now, all you have is the PDF file – and on top of that it is a scanned file. Never fear! With the PDF tools in WordPerfect Standard or Professional, you can open PDFs right in WordPerfect and edit them.
WordPerfect OCRs (changes the scanned letters to text) your scanned image into text – no more re-typing. Here’s how:
- Use File > Open PDF to import a PDF
- If the PDF is password-protected, you will need to know the password to import the PDF
- Make selections on text-out-of-images and number of pages
The converted text opens in WordPerfect as text. Now you can edit the document then save as a Word or WordPerfect file, or export to PDF.

I have Word Perfect 2021 Home and Student. It does not have “Open PDF” it will say “file type unrecognized” even
though it has “Publish to PDF”. So sad.
I have the same problem
