How to Edit Audio

Make your next project sing by adding a custom-fit soundtrack from the royalty-free music included in VideoStudio’s ScoreFitter music library! Mute clips or split audio directly in the timeline, or quickly balance audio levels among selected clips using the Normalize Audio tool. Looking to create an instructional video or tutorial video? Audio Ducking gives you the power to automatically lower background music when a dialog track is detected, so you can be sure your voiceover is heard. VideoStudio 2018 will make you look (and sound) your very best.

Is there a way to make the voice over a mono signal or mute one of the stereo signals out?

I have just installed VideoStudio 2020. I wish to create and burn Bluray 5.1 surround movies with menus..
If I import H.264 .mov files with 5.1 surround audio, can they be burned without any modification to a bluray disc?
I am having problems setting the properties for exporting Bluray, the compression drop down list for Dolby
Digital Audio does not contain an Audio Type option 3/2 (L, C, R, SL, SR), so I cannot export a 5.1 track.
Do I have to import six audio tracks to create a 5.1 audio track?
Is there a tutorial video explaining how to create 5.1 surround tracks from imported surround sound video clips?

    Thanks in advance.

      Hello David,

Thank you for the suggestion! We do not currently have a tutorial on this, but we have passed your comment on to the VideoStudio team for their consideration.

In the meantime: do you have the Blu-Ray plugin? Due to licensing, it is a separate purchase and not included in the main product, but can be purchased from the Plugins/Get More menu in VideoStudio. If it is not present, that would limit the visible output options for a project of that size, and is likely the source of your trouble!

Can I do a voice over directly to the video as it is playing to correlate what I am seeing as the video plays or do I have to record the audio clip separately to a file and then insert in audio track? TIA

      Hello Jim,

You can! To record voice-over narration, select the point on the timeline you want to start narrating at, and click the Record/Capture Option button in the Timeline view.
      Next, select Voice-over.
The Adjust Volume window will pop up first, giving you an opportunity to do a quick sound check and adjust your levels.
Then click Start and begin narration!
To finish your Voice-over, press Escape or Space.

      Hope this helps,

      Hello Leon,

Yes! You can add any audio files you have on the computer to your projects, and videos can be exported to YouTube from inside VideoStudio or saved locally and uploaded separately.
