Creating Project Templates

Creating Project Templates

Not only can you create video or photo slideshows quickly with SmartMovie or Montage, but now with Pinnacle Studio 20.5 and higher, you can save your finished projects as templates to fast-track your future projects. When your project is done, just click File > Save Movie as Template and easily replace media with placeholders. This feature is great if you’re creating tutorials, promo videos, or any video project where you use a defined template.

If you already own Pinnacle Studio 20, you can download this update for free. If you own a previous version of Pinnacle Studio, you qualify for special upgrade pricing.

I’ve completed my videos I want for a DVD. I need to know how to create the DVD menu, which options I have to choose from and how to get them to link up with each window and play when selected on a DVD player. The youtube video shows an “Author” option at the top of the screen but mine doesn’t show that. I have Pinnacle Studio 21 Ultimate.
    Thanks

      Hello Michael,

By default, the Author tab is disabled in favour of a workflow where you export the project to MyDVD, which has an expanded toolset for DVD creation. You can still do everything in Pinnacle Studio though! Just enable the Author tab by going to Setup > Control Panel > Legacy Options, and enable Legacy Author Mode.

      Hello Tormod,

Your maximum filesize depends on the email service provider you and the recipient use. In general it is best to keep your files under 10 Mb, as that is small enough to guarantee just about any email provider will receive the file. Some are a little bigger, but in general the maximum attachment size on an email is quite small.

For reference, even an SD video (480×270 resolution) has a bitrate of around 600-700 kbps, meaning you would only be able to fit two minutes of video into 10 Mb!

If physical media such as a DVD or USB drive are not an option, we would suggest moving files that have to be larger than this using cloud-based file storage or transfer services, such as DropBox, Box, OneDrive, or iCloud, to name a few.

      Hope this helps!
