This is very useful for me.
As others said, I also like to read the written tutorial.
It is very difficult for me to follow the video.
If you introduce the turorial video like this, please prepare the written one simultaneously.
Would it be possible to have a written tutorial as well with these tutorials? As one with early stage Alzheimer’s, I find the videos sometimes difficult to follow.
Hello Dale,
Thank you for the feedback! While many of our tutorials do have written instructions to go along with them, this one is currently only available as a video. We have passed your comments on to our PaintShop tutorial folks for their consideration.
All the best,
Discovery Center team
Bob I am doing something wrong with dream effect , I get up to when you say merge down before you start painting but there is no picture in my promoted selection can you help please.
Hello Keith,
Is the layer you are merging down into set to visible? If you merge down into a layer that is currently set to invisible, the resulting merged layer will sometimes default to invisible, which may be what happened here!

LOVE that fast-moving tutorial of Bob’s. So much useful information, imparted very concisely. Thank you!
Thank you Bob! Excellent tutorial that demonstrates techniques we can use (and adapt!) to create some really unique images. Yes, it moves fast. But I will use the pause and rewind buttons to go over each step until I too, have mastered each step. It’s great to see a tutorial which goes beyond the basics. Although I may not use exactly the same technique (eg, I would use a mask layer rather than the eraser tool), I always love to see how someone else approaches photo editing. I enjoyed the journey from original image to a great end product. I look forward to seeing more of your techniques.
Dear Corel
Where oh where are the written tutorials related to the video.
The video is nice to watch, but goes tooo quick to write down and the screen is too small to see good.
The projects are too difficult like this to copy and add your own.
Kind regards,
Marianna
Hello Marianna,
Thank you for the feedback! We do not currently have a written version of this tutorial, but we have passed your request on to the tutorial team.
In the meantime, you can expand the video player to fill your entire monitor by clicking the Fullscreen icon in the bottom right corner of the video player, after the video has begun to play.
Hope this helps!

Tutorials are difficult to access and go by too fast!! I have been a PSP user since X3. One thing that seems to be absent in X( and PSP Ultimate 2018 is the ability to crop a photo with an elliptical or oval shape. I have sent several emails requesting details on how to work around this ommission and chatted with Corel Support. The support person stated that she needed to get a specialist to assist me. Further that the assistance would be via email. This was 3 days ago and still no email, phone or other contact. I also have been A WP & Qpro user since DOS days. No problems with WP that I can’t handle. I use PSP Pro less often and am disappointed in the lack of information and/or tech support for PSP. This lack may force me to go to Cyberlink Photo software. HELP, please!!
Hi Lee,
You can use the shape cutter tool to crop an image in a circle or ellipse shape.
1. Activate the Ellipse tool and draw a circle or ellipse on your image
2. Click on the Cutter Preview button and this will allow you to move your shape around and resize it to get it positioned exactly where you want
3. Now click on the Shape Cutter button and it will crop your image into the shape you have drawn
Here is a tutorial that shows you how to use the Shape Cutter and Text Cutter tools.
https://learn.corel.com/tutorials/how-to-create-mask-fills-for-text-and-shapes/
You can also find more info in the PaintShop Pro help files here http://help.corel.com/paintshop-pro/v20/main/en/documentation/index.html#page/Corel_PaintShop_Pro%2FFilling-cutout-shapes-with-images.html
Can you also tell me a bit more about the difficulties you are having accessing the tutorials? Are you having a hard time finding the topics you are interested in? Or experienced technical issues with the videos?
Thanks!
